The Scottish government today published a fascinating Marine Atlas with much useful information and data on Scotland’s marine environment.

The map above (larger version available here) shows the extent of Scotland’s territorial seas (12 mile limit) and continental shelf (200 mile limit). This shows clearly the extent of the marine environment over which the Crown Estate Commissioners exercise their powers – powers which I believe should be devolved to local government and local communities.
